Flija(Albanian) is considered one of most traditional Kosovo foods and definitely one of most delicious ones. Not only flija but also the way how flia is prepared is traditional. It is prepared by thin layers of batter and cream, cooking each layer individually with metal lid (in Albanian saƧ) topped with hot cinders. The main ingredients to prepare flija ate: flour, water, butter, yoghurt and salt. Its preparation takes some two to four hours. If visiting Kosovo, I would really suggest you to try flija. You can find it in different restaurants in Prishtina and other cities. If you visit some Albanian families in Kosovo, especially in villages that would be the best chance to try a real traditional flija.
